A simple schedule for desert pools.

| Weekly (all year) | Test water, brush, skim, empty baskets |
| January–February | Good time to drain or resurface if needed; clean the filter thoroughly |
| March–April | Inspect pump and filter; check the salt cell for scale; set summer pump schedule |
| May | Stock up on chlorine and acid before peak season; check pressure and leaks |
| June–September | Test two or three times a week; watch water level; clean up after monsoon storms |
| October | Clean filter after monsoon season; check heater before cooler nights |
| November–December | Shorten pump schedule; use a solar cover; descale tile |
